The Source, a program of the Sacramento Children’s Home, is committed to protecting your privacy. While using the Website, you do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information. If you should choose to give us your personal information, you determine the amount of information you wish to provide. This Privacy Policy applies to data collection and usage on TheSourceSacramento.com; it does not apply to other websites.

Personal information of TheSourceSacramento.com users is collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Privacy Policy. Other websites linked from TheSourceSacramento.com may have their own privacy statements and/or policies.

  1. USE OF SERVICES BY CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

Although we are a nonprofit organization and our website and services are not necessarily directed to children under the age of 13, children under age 13 may access and use our Website and Services.  We advise children under the age of 13 to contact us directly by phone (916-787-7678) rather than submitting personal data via the Website. The federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (collectively, “COPPA”) sets requirements to inform parents and legal guardians (as used in this section “guardians”) about our practices for collecting, using and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13 (“child” or “children”).  This section only applies to children under age 13 and supplements the other provisions of this Privacy Policy which apply to teens and adults.

This section hereby notifies users and guardians of: (1) the types of information we may collect through the Website which could be from and about children; (2) how we use the information we collect; (3) our practices for disclosing that information; (4) our practices for notifying users/guardians (if applicable) when we collect personal information from children, including how consent may be revoked; and (5) all operators that collect or maintain children’s information through this Website.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to or through our Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services.
